London artist and poet, Elle Smith evokes those feelings of loneliness of a relationship passed, in this original poem called 'Dancing Without You'. Although, this poetry is about sadness, it is also nostalgic as imagery is conjured like magic:
Dancing Without You
Dancing and spinning,
now alone without you.
My world has crumbled,
as I feel lonely and blue.
We twirled and my heart
gently floated on air.
Within your strong arms,
I had no worry or care.
It was like being wrapped,
in bubbles of cotton wool.
You were my comfort,
as a blanket or even a snood.
The cold world outside,
disappeared and was not there.
You holding me tightly,
is simply beyond compare.
