Elle Smith achieves Third place in Poetry Contest

It was just announced that Elle Smith's poem 'Angels Do Come to Visit' achieved Third place in the 2016 Voices of Lincoln Poetry Contest. The category of this achievement was 'It Happened One Night'.

Clearly, everyone at Inspired By Elle is very proud of this achievement and validation of the poetry of Elle Smith, who writes contemporary poetry which is resonates with the public. This poem in particular poignant, as it is inspired by loss, and the feelings experienced when someone close passes away.

Unlike the majority of poems on this topic, this poem has a euphoric mood as we are informed that those we care for deeply, never depart the soul even when they are deceased. It is clear that there are always triggers around us that remind us of others, and this poem wraps these feelings up beautifully in a comforting way.

The Poets Club of Lincoln will be hosting a special event on Sunday 9 October 2016, where they will celebrate this competition. Each of the winning poems will be read to the audience at this event, by the poet or poetess in person, or by a member of the club if the composer cannot attend.

The details of the event are listed below, and all are welcome to attend if they are able to get to Lincoln, California at:

Twelve Bridges Library

Willow Room

485 Twelve Bridges Drive

The timing of the event will be 3 to 5pm, and it promises to be a great international event given the entrants are from around the globe.
