People are Amazing!

This contemporary poetry by Elle Smith is called 'People are Amazing'. It reminds us that we should celebrate people around us for all their diversity, as people count above everything at the end of the day:

People are Amazing

I love to watch and observe the way that they behave,

often craving the things that serve them least,

and discarding the ones that count.

People tend to wish their lives away,

each day hoping tomorrow will bring their sunshine,

and forgetting that every day counts.

~~~

Different people exhibit far-ranging moral codes,

sometimes they don’t see the contradiction,

and at other times, remember only to moan.

~~~

Yet people are AMAZING with skills and aptitude,

making the world more interestingly delightful,

and giving us our quota of Va, Va, Voom!
