An abstract art painting of an invisible easter egg, which is only visible by virtue of the colourful butterflies which have landed on the egg. Pâques Oeuf Papillion is a contemporary abstract art painting which is available for sale upon request.

The idea behind this was framed around the Peter Carl Fabergé Easter eggs which were first produced in 1885 on commission by Tsar Alexander III as a surprised for his fiancée, the Danish Empress Marie Fedorovna. She had been captivated throughout her childhood by an Easter egg that her aunt owned, so this would make a perfect gift for Easter. Read more about these famous eggs here.

Many of these eggs were produced since this time and they are owned by many royal families and institutions around the globe. They are exquisitely beautiful and are extremely collectable as they are literally priceless.

Our artist has used this story to imagine an invisible egg whose beauty is only revealed as it attracts butterflies in the most flamboyant array of colours. A simple concept and yet full of vivid imagination and colour. Colourful abstract art with a very contemporary air.
