"Creating a sketch is an essential first step prior to painting a portrait. It feels amazing to be able to create a sketch that shows the person’s facial expression. The ability to sketch “time” with a charcoal pencil is an amazing gift. Sketching a human face needs more specific detail than animals even though at times they can be just as expressive as humans.”
