Colour Us Back From History - Women | Educational Colouring Book

Inspired By Elle

    • Colour Us Back From History (Women) by Elle Smith is a unique concept in colouring books.
    • This educational colouring book offers the reader learning and relaxation in an easy-read book. Ten female personalities are covered in sections giving a précis of their achievements and why they deserve recognition in our history. Each book becomes unique as the reader's imagination inspires the colouring in of the character with perhaps some background props based on the learning experience in the book.
    • By colouring in the women sketched, that character is given significance as they come into full colour.
    • Colour Us Back from History (Women) provides a compact way to absorb key information about ten female personalities, like:
      • Hedy Lamarr,
      • Mary Seacole,
      • Mildred Dresselhaus,
      • Dorothy Dandridge,
      • Mae Carol Jemison,
      • Nellie Bly,
      • Elizabeth Jennings Graham,
      • Vera Laska,
      • Elizabeth Garrett Anderson,
      • Helen Keller.
    • The reader is able to therapeutically colour in the illustrations composed by London artist, Elle Smith. This means that each book becomes a truly personal keepsake, in which the reader’s imagination creates a unique perception of those female personalities whilst relaxing at the same time.
    • This colouring book is a great gift for birthdays or as a quirky Christmas present, but can also keep children occupied during long journeys, or over the holidays.

I was very pleased with the quality of the book and detail provided about each of the historical women included in the coloring book which I purchased for my granddaughter. She loves to learn and to color, and this was an ideal gift for her.

Thanks so much for your feedback, Jeff!

We worked on the concept of the colouring books, so that the learning aspect would be positive for children (and adults too!!)

A variety of nationalities, careers and colours are who you will find in this book. The ten featured women are as follows:
Mildred Dresselhaus * Hellen Keller * Dorothy Dandridge * Mae Carol Jemison * Mary Seacole * Hedy Lamarr * Nellie Bly * Ellizabeth Jennings Graham * Vera Laska * Elizabeth Garrett Anderson

The purpose of this book is to ensure we do not forget those that have gone before us. History, which in this instance is women's lives, has a LOT to tell us and much we can learn from it. Each lady's colouring page is accompanied by a brief biography, fun fact and notable quote. You will find a scientist, journalist, actress, astronaut and more in these pages.Whilst definitely written for all ages I would forewarn interested parents that Hedy Lamarr went from being a nude actress to an inventor of an improved traffic stoplight, the former being talked about in her biography.
