Our Endless Love

Do not give me flowers,

in time they will die.

Their scent gradually fading,

eventually to disappear.

Do not take me to dinner,

as hunger will soon pass.

Those sensations do not linger,

long enough to last.

Do not buy me presents,

materiality does not count.

It is much better served,

to accrue in a safe or vault.

Do not offer me promises,

as possibility involves risk.

Certainty is all that is needed,

without a chance being missed.

Do not tender to me a ring,

though it may seem the perfect gift.

We do not need influence or ties,

giving the relationship a sting.

The only thing I require,

is you right by my side.

Nothing else will matter,

as endless love is our thing.
