Meltdown of the Senses

I used to be blind, but now I see,

It was what television was doing to me.

Sex and violence in constant waves,

affected me, until I forgot HOW to behave.

Radio banging, there too a constant flow,

unrelenting noise making me just not know.

Looking for a real, alternative view,

Newspapers, journals I turn to review.

There too I find bias, injustice and pawn.

alas realizing that they too are owned.

I decided to speak about what I found,

but sadly my words no longer had my sound.

My language and ability to speak,

was lost completely and I felt ‘sic’.

My five senses had started to withdraw.

to nature I ran before all was forlorn.
